In 1993 with the support of Pittsburgh’s Fraternal Association of Professional Paramedics I introduced the first bill to provide for certification of paramedics and emergency medical technicians by the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
The bill was re-introduced and passed in 1994 and established a system of certification and professional discipline. Thirty years later as a hearing officer I conducted hearings and wrote proposed decisions that involved paramedics and emergency medical technicians. I have a rare combination of experience in this field and I can use that know-how to protect and defend your rights.
As a hearing officer I also handled cases that involved authorized WIC (Women Infants and Children) vendors, a federally-funded program that helps families put food on the table and supports local businesses. You may own a bodega, a corner grocery store, or a supermarket that an investigator authorized by the Department of Health has audited and found a violation. I understand the issues and what to look for in a WIC case.
As a hearing officer I also handled cases that involved hearing aid fitters and the related field of audiology. The procedures and issues are similar but there are key differences.
